Physical Education (GCSE/A Level)

Choose a subject

In Physical Education we equip students with the physical literacy and knowledge to lead a healthy, active lifestyle. We encourage students to be physically active in every PE lesson and beyond to improve their mental and social well-being while enabling them to grow as confident members of our community.

Activities to support students outside of classroom

Parents can help by ensuring that their daughter has their full and correct PE kit (as listed in the school prospectus) for every PE lesson. Parents can also encourage their daughter to attend as many PE extra-curricular clubs as possible. Good news stories, team sheets, fixtures and announcements can be found on the PE News Feed - this can be accessed by students in the google classroom area once they have the code.

Enrichment Activities

We like to see pupils, where possible, attending an extra-curricular activity at least once a week, either at lunchtime or after school in order to maintain or improve their skill level and overall level of fitness. We run a wide and varied extra-curricular programme, every day of the week either at lunchtimes, after school or both. If a pupil enjoys a particular sport that may have been covered in the PE lesson, or would simply like to try out a new sport, would like to meet new people or want to improve their level of fitness, we recommend that they join a PE club. Pupils can join a PE Club at any time of the year. Some of the Extra-Curricular clubs/activities at Coombe include: Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Netball, Cricket, Cross Country, Dance, Fitness, Football, Gymnastics, Table Tennis, Tennis, Trampolining and Volleyball which change each term.
